Open House! Success!

We had an amazing Wolfman open house Saturday! Filled with famous DAKAR riders signing autographs, local dealers, motorcycle-industry friends, loyal customers and family! Can't be grateful enough for all of our continued growth and Eric's creative designs. Who knew we would be in a 10,000 square foot office building with a Showroom from our extra bedroom in Nederland to Boulder to our Longmont basement to NOW?!!! We employ 8 in-house employees, 9 contract sewers, 1 contract cutting house, 1 contract manufacturing facility, 1 contract custom rack builder, 1 contract powder coating suppler, 1 part-time Webmaster/Professional Photographer, 1 part-time VP of Marketing/Showroom, and 1 part-time cleaning person. And all our racks and soft luggage are made in America. WOW!!!

We served Chef-prepared food (Juli's husband is a professional chef), had a fundraiser raffle and sold items from our new Showroom!

Our Expedition Dry Line -- saddle bags and duffel bags -- helped get riders out into the elements without the elements getting all over their gear. So how about even more ways to carry your gear without worrying about rain, river crossings, slush, mud or dust?

This year, there are many more choices thanks to our new Rolie Bag System. The Wolfman and his cohorts put lots of effort into designing a system that can be used in many different ways. How will you get the most out of the Rolie Bag System for the way you ride?

Start with any of the three sizes of Rolie Bags. Each bag is built tough with waterproof vinyl, radio frequency welded seams and a roll-top that keeps water at bay. Mix and match sizes (and colors) to get the capacity you need. Each bag comes with a strap set that allows mounting to a seat or rack.

Then pick a mount system that puts the bag or bags where you want them: Seat mount, seat/fender mount, rack mount, tank mount, tank pannier-style, or saddle bags. Saddle bags can mount on Wolf Side Racks, or straight onto dirt or enduro bikes with our Rolie Saddle Mount, depending on the bike and bag size. New Product! RotoPax and Wolf Side Racks

We're always looking for a way to extend the adventure. So here's a new one. Combine the Wolf Side Racks with the RotoPax system.

RotoPax bottles allow you to carry a gallon of extra liquid. Fuel? Sure, for extra miles anywhere. Water? Yes, for more time in the desert, maybe.

The Wolfman Mounting Plate attaches to Wolf Side Racks. Then the RotoPax mount bolts to the Plate. Slide a RotoPax 1-Gallon Fuel Pack or 1-Gallon Water Pack onto the mount, twist, and you're ready to go.

BUT, you can also use our Expedition Dry Saddle Bags or the Teton Saddle Bags WITH the RotoPax. They mount over the 1-Gallon pack, secure and tight, like you expect them to be.

Here are couple of pictures of my wolfman stuff. I got all of my Wolfman gear from Elite KTM back in March when I got my KTM 690 Enduro. Guy Stevenson and I finally got to go out on a short trip and use it. First off, the rack system is spectacular!!!! Easy to install, low profile, and strong! I would recommend adding to the packaging extra spacers for the top mounts for those not using an upper rack and some 1/2" spacers for the lower attachment point so you don't have to use the enduro footpeg assembly. The Expedition bags are way easy to put on the rack. I really like the ease of use. The duffel is a little bit on the big side for me. If you made an extra small it would be perfect. I've got a lot of extra strap-age to tuck and tie. 3 days or 1 month I take the same gear on my rides. Tank bag and the tool bag are just right and stay of the bike all the time. Do you do anykind of custom prototype stuff?? I could really use a pair of fender bags with the velcro set up used on the tool kit. In the pictures you see I have a fairing on my 690. I would like to put each of my tubes on either side of it on the inside so I can open up a bit of space in my tool kit.
Anyway, great stuff. I'm really happy with my purchase. Hope to see you on the trails.

Hi Eric,
Just wanted to let you know that I just got back from a trip from Denver to Deadhorse, Alaska and back. I used your large expedition tank bag on my VStrom 1000. It worked flawlessly. I know you say it is not "truly waterproof" but it is as close as it gets, short of a zip-lock. It held everything, including a camelbak bladder with the hose hanging out. I never got so much as a drip in the bag. Also, it is very easy to move for fuel ups.

Spirit and I have been on the road for close to 4 years now, full time, north in the summer and south in the winter... East and West, so much to explore and feel from this vast Land of ours. The equipment has to be perfect. It is under the weather elements 27/7. It has to be waterproof... I have to say that we have a gone through a few tank bags, bags period. I think these are it! Waterproof Wolfman transports to South Sudan

Hi Wolfman,

Just thought you would like to see some pictures of, what i believe, to be the only Wolfman bags in South Sudan. I use the bags for my commuting between Sudan, Uganda and Kenya, but mostly in Sudan. The waterproof bags are great because we get some heavy rain, and often the way is wet and muddy.

Im working in Sudan as a volunteer teacher, and my bike (Honda XR650R) is my only means of transport.

I just returned from a 900 mile trip to the Smokey Mountains with some other riders. Unfortunately we ran into some heavy rain, but my clothes stayed dry because I had a Wolfman PVC bag on my bike. It is great luggage and performed very well.

Dear Wolfman,

I wanted to share a few photos of my expedition tank panniers installed with the small expedition tank bag. It took some creativity with a big fat Acerbis tank to get them far enough forward and low enough with the handlebars at full lock, but they seem to work well and stay firmly in place. The rear straps that normally go to the seat stays are routed under the tank diagonally and are buckled to the modified front strap on top of the panniers. Looking forward to taking a trip with them.

Yo, here are some pics of a recent trip you might want to use for an upcoming catalogue or website.

The pics were taken on the top of Snowy Pass (10,800 feet) in the Medicine
Bow Mountain Range of south-central Wyoming. It's a great drive on a
motorcycle (Hwy 130), which is just north of Encampment, Wy and goes from
west to east and plops you back down in the sleepy town of Centennial,
Wyoming. These pics were taken on the 3rd day of a 4 day dirt,gravel,and
some slab tour of the Medicine Bows. Just prior to the trip I bought the
tank panniers which worked well for carrying my cook kit, stove, and msr
water filter.

Hello Wolfman crew,

I am a firm believer in testing and confidently knowing how well a part or product works. I recently used the Wolfman Luggage Expedition Dry Duffel on one of my outings through the Oregon northwest. Wanting to avoid the usual grind on the major highways I began heading north to Washington via this road trying to connect the dots from Detroit Lake and Mt Hood. It was all good until I got up in elevation and a late snow had left the pass with about 6-18 inches of mushy, crusty snow. Since turning around and adding 70 plus miles to my day was something I did not want to do I continued through the snow with my bag laden KTM 950 Adventure. I stopped several times, most of them in a controlled fashion, to hike out the path to determine if I could make it through. I found that near the end of the snow, where it got the deepest, was a truck that had gotten stuck. The great thing about this was they told me that the road cleared just around the corner. This was great news as I was getting tired of man handling the big girl through the mush and getting showered with snow from the roost. The last bit I ported all my bags and gear to lighten things up, unsnapping the Dry Duffel was quick and easy. I made one trip with the Dry Duffel and my tank bag using the shoulder strap and one with the panniers. Just as I came across the last bit of snow I was met by another rider who was coming from the other direction. We chatted for a couple minutes and then we proceeded to one of his favorite stops along the way to enjoy the day, a fine cigar and banter about riding gear.

I have to say that I am very happy with the build quality, how well the bag works and withstands my level of abuse. I have beat this bag up without question. Dropped it in a creek while attempting a crossing and my gear stays clean, dry and surely attached to the bike, independent if its sideways in snow or water. It also works as a positive flotation device in the unlikely event of a water landing! I also like the enhanced visibility provided by the bright yellow material.

After 14 years of doing without, I returned to the world of motorcycling. A few months ago I was in the early stages of planning a road trip and contacted Wolfman about his large expedition bag and promptly received a reply of the pros and cons of using the large expedition bag with panniers on my 2009 BMW Adventurer.
After a 3,500 mile trip from Portland, Oregon to Banff to Mt. Rushmore and points in between that included high winds, rain as droplets and pellet form....the Wolfman Large Expedition Bag held up great. I was impressed!
I am very happy with quality of this fine American product and enjoyed fielding questions from others regarding the large expedition bag while touring the Northwest.

Old Wolfman tank bag that never dies...

Hi!

This is the story of an old tank bag, that never quits, never dies, and
has found a place on every motorcycle I've ever owned.

I bought my first wolfmann tank bag in 2001, with my first motorcycle.
It was a Honda Nighthawk 750. Soon after, I bought a Suzuki SV1000S,
and well the list goes on from there. The tank bag has held bulging
quantities of clothes, tools, souvenirs, and even a small picnic for my
wife and I on Sunday jogs without lament.

Recently, I took a ride up through British Columbia on my '95 Ducati
Monster. Stuffed to the gills with a spare face shield, clothes, and
every tool needed to rebuild the motor (sans a crankshaft lathe). It was
so full, that even the super-strong magnets couldn't hold it, so I
bungeed it to the tail (thanks for putting d-rings on the bag!)

Over two-thousand lovely miles with my old, dirty tank bag. Surely it
will outlive me.

As I just ordered a fender bag for my ongoing enduro/dualsport
addiction, I thought I should drop you folks a note to let you know not
only how amazingly well your gear holds up, but how happy I am I came
across your products.

Spain and France

My trip was great, really enjoyed it and my 13 year old daughter who came along had the adventure of her life I think, she absolutely loved it.

We basically got the overnight ferry from the UK to Santander in Northern Spain. Then criss-crossed the Pyrenees mountains from Spain into France and back again going from the Atlantic ocean on one coast to Barcelona on the Mediteranean coast.

Once there, my wife had flown out to take my daughter and two other friends kids back home by plane as we couldn't get them back in time for school otherwise. We then criss-crossed back again via all the roads we missed on the outward journey.

Attached a few photo's for you.

Pailheres - Col d'Pailheres - France, close to Ax les Thermes, the paint on the road is from local cycle races.

Yesa 1/2 - Lake at Yesa in Spain

Bielsa - taken at the entrance to the Bielsa Tunnel, 3km long through the top of a mountain linking France to Spain, starts at 1600 metres in France and comes out in Spain at 1800 metres.

Col d'Aspin - used on the mountain stages of the famous Tour de France cycle race, some really tight, steep hairpin climbs in places, and great views along the way.

N260 1/2 - Taken on the N260 in Spain, stunning road that runs for about 150 miles along the the southern side of the Pyrenees, has everything from soaring eagles, to forests to mountains, hairpins and switchbacks, fast sweeping bends, a truly awesome road. I've ridden it a few times now and never tire of it or the scenery.

Wolfman burns up the Smokies

Just used the small expedition, expedition tank panniers, and expedition duffel on my 2009 DR650 on a recent 1100 mile trip over to the Smokies. I road through some serious storms and was really impressed with my bags. I was given many compliments by all my riding buddies (some of which hadn't heard of your stuff but after touching the bags, they want them). I even used my expedition duffel to carry 5 bags of groceries from the local supermarket back to our rented cabin. The quality of your products are top notch and I really am very impressed.

I thought you might like to see the Beta, Beta duffel, and Explorer lite tank bag on my 1989 Honda NX 650. I was just on a 9 day trip around the west end of Washington state on the first week of Sept. The bags fit and worked great. I am anxious for my next adventure. Really it takes at least 4 days till you know where/how every thing goes back in the bags.

Panama into the Darien

Hi Again Eric,

Wolfman took us into and through some of the roughest terrain ever seen by a human being. From Detroit to Panama into the Darien and back with the highest of confidence. Oldrice Adventures won’t leave home without Wolfman luggage.

Here’s another Wolfman pic somewhere in Panama heading towards the Darien. Details for this specific pic to be outlined in an upcoming magazine article. It’ll be a big pic and as you can see, Wolfman’s all over it!

Hey guys,

We used a nice line of your luggage on a couple KLR650s that rode from Detroit Michigan to the Panama Canal recently. The luggage held up very nicely and an entire article is in the works for a certain editor friend of mine at Motorcyclist Magazine. That Dan Walsh guy down there writing for Motorcyclist isn’t writing much about motorcycles. Hence our trip.

Anyway, I thought I would send you one of my favorite pictures of the trip. I think it illustrates Wolfman Luggage success in the industry as well. This pic was taken South of Beliz in Central America.

BTW – I personally like the windscreen mounted pouch for the KLR650 as well as the large rear saddlebags. I don’t own any (yet) but it was a joy to set up the bikes and hear the positive feedback from the team that used them. We also used a great deal of Ortleib waterproof gear as well and for what it’s worth – they kept things dry, but the team wasn’t as pleased overall with them as they were with the Wolfman gear.

-This was taken at Easter 2006 Wales, at the Red Kite Rally, a competitive off road event designed for trail bikes and larger adventure bikes. Held on the Epynt Ranges where the British Army do some of their artillery and tank training. You are warned not to stray from the designated course! Again, bike is CCM644DS.

-Simon Barnes' seven month trip through Africa in 2007 on his Suzuki DRZ400.
